Why AI Hates Your Marketing Copy (Even If Humans Love It)
Adjectives are empty calories for LLMs. Here is how to write for the machine without sounding like a robot.
Copywriters love adjectives. "Stunning." "Breathtaking." "Revolutionary."
AI models hate them.
To an LLM (Large Language Model), an adjective is a subjective claim that carries high "hallucination risk." If an agent repeats your claim that a toaster is "revolutionary," and the user hates it, the agent has failed.
Therefore, agents are trained to filter out marketing fluff and look for verifiable facts.
If your product description is 90% fluff and 10% fact, you are giving the agent very little to work with.
The "Fluff vs. Fact" Ratio
Let's look at two descriptions for a skincare serum.
Option A (Marketing Copy):
"Unlock your inner radiance with our glow-boosting miracle serum. Feel the difference instantly as nature's finest ingredients caress your skin."
What the AI sees:
- Goal: "Glow-boosting" (Subjective)
- Timeframe: "Instantly" (High risk claim)
- Ingredients: "Nature's finest" (Vague/ meaningless)
- Value: Near Zero.
Option B (Agent-Optimized Copy):
"A 10% Vitamin C serum with Hyaluronic Acid for brightening and hydration. pH balanced at 3.5. Fragrance-free and non-comedogenic."
What the AI sees:
- Active Ingredient: Vitamin C (10%)
- Secondary Ingredient: Hyaluronic Acid
- Benefit: Brightening, Hydration
- Spec: pH 3.5
- Constraints: Fragrance-free, Non-comedogenic
- Value: High.
How to "Agentify" Your Copy
You don't have to delete your fun marketing copy. Humans still read it.
But you must append a "Fact Block".
Think of it like the "Nutrition Facts" label on a cereal box. The front of the box says "Kid Approved!" (Marketing). The side says "12g Sugar" (Fact).
For every product, ensure you have a bulleted list of Hard Claims:
- Dimensions: Exact numbers.
- Materials: Exact percentages.
- Origin: Country of manufacture.
- Compatibility: "Works with iPhone 15" (not "Works with modern phones").
The "Un-Adjective" Rule
Naridon's content audit tool scans for "Empty Adjectives."
- Replace "Durable" with "Reinforced Stitching / 5-Year Warranty".
- Replace "Lightweight" with "Weighs 250g".
- Replace "Fast" with "Boils water in 3 minutes".
Facts are sticky. Fluff is slippery. Give the agent something to hold onto.
