The Complete Agentic Commerce Checklist for Shopify

Don't guess if you are ready. Use this binary checklist. If you check all boxes, you are in the top 1% of AI-optimized stores.

We have covered a lot of theory. Now let's get practical.

This is the exact checklist Naridon uses when we audit a Shopify Plus store for "Agent Readiness."

Phase 1: Discovery (Can they find you?)

  • [ ] Robots.txt: Is GPTBot, Google-Extended, and ClaudeBot allowed? (If blocked, game over).
  • [ ] Sitemap.xml: Is it clean? No 404s? Does it prioritize Product pages over Tag pages?
  • [ ] SSR Rendering: Is your product description visible in the raw HTML source code (not just via JS)?
  • [ ] GTIN/MPN: Do 100% of products have a valid Global Trade Item Number?

Phase 2: Understanding (Do they know what you sell?)

  • [ ] Structured Title: Does your Schema name follow the format: [Brand] + [Model] + [Key Feature] + [Category]?
  • [ ] Attribute Density: Do you have at least 5 structured attributes (Color, Material, Pattern, Size, Gender) in your JSON-LD?
  • [ ] Image Context: Do all product images have descriptive ALT text explaining the visual details?
  • [ ] Price Clarity: Is the price field in Schema the actual current selling price (including discounts)?

Phase 3: Trust (Do they believe you?)

  • [ ] Policy Schema: Is merchantReturnPolicy defined with explicit days and fees?
  • [ ] Shipping Schema: Is shippingDetails defined with delivery times and costs?
  • [ ] Review Aggregation: Is aggregateRating present and crawlable (not hidden in an iframe)?
  • [ ] Consistency Check: Does your Schema description match your visible description? (AI hates liars).

Phase 4: Actionability (Can they buy?)

  • [ ] Stock Status: Is availability real-time? (InStock vs OutOfStock vs PreOrder).
  • [ ] Variant URLs: Does every variant have a unique URL or query parameter that changes the metadata?
  • [ ] Permalinks: Are your URLs stable? (No changing slugs randomly).

Scoring

0-5 Checks: Invisible.

6-10 Checks: Visible but risky.

11-14 Checks: Contender.

15/15 Checks: Authority.
